Manager Mike Matheny made his third State of the Cardinals address this morning on the first day of official workouts at the Cardinals' spring training complex. There was loud applause at one point from players and staff, although Matheny said it must have been when he introduced 91-year-old Red Schoendienst, the third oldest living Hall of Famer.
