Michael Wacha wasn’t in the majors long enough during the 2013 regular season to merit serious Rookie of the Year Award consideration in the National League. But Wacha’s last regular start — in which he missed a no-hitter by one out and a couple inches — followed by a dominant postseason in which he nearly pitched another no-hitter have led Cardinals teammate Adam Wainwright to think in terms well beyond rookie of the year.
