Way back in 2004 as he went through free agency for the first time in his career and as perhaps the best all-around player in the game, Carlos Beltran spoke openly about his fondness for the way the New York Yankees pursued titles. His agent at the time even doubled back to the Yankees before Beltran signed that winter with the New York Mets.
