Cardinals Announce 2014 Minor League Staff

The Cardinals announced 2014 coaching staff assignments for their Minor League affiliates on Thursday, as well as the promotion of Tim Leveque to Minor League pitching coordinator. Leveque fills the vacancy created after Brent Strom left the organization last month to accept a position as the Astros' pitching coach.

The Peoria Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals have announced the 2014 Chiefs field staff with Joe Kruzel named as the 22nd Manager in Chiefs history. His staff will include three members who worked in Peoria in 2013, former MLB players Jason Simontacchi and Erik Pappas and athletic trainer Mike Petrarca.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that Springfield Cardinals Field Manager Mike Shildt will once again be at the helm in Springfield for the 2014 season. Also returning are Pitching Coach Randy Niemann, Hitting Coach Phillip Wellman, Athletic Trainer Scott Ensell and Strength and Conditioning Coach Josh Cue.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that Oliver Marmol, who led the State College Spikes to the most successful season in franchise history this past summer, will return as the team's manager in 2014. Also returning to the Spikes' bench next season will be pitching coach Dernier Orozco, hitting coach Ramon Ortiz and head athletic trainer Dan Martin.
