The 2013 Cardinals In Context

How great are the 2013 Cardinals? You can of course read that question in a couple of different ways: As in, “Man, those Cardinals sure are great!” or as in “How does this version of the Cardinals compare with other recent great Cardinal teams?” With the team sporting the best record in baseball (tied with the Boston Red Sox), we take the first interpretation to be self-evident. The latter is the one which which this post is more concerned.
