Marlon Byrd Trade Bigger For Pirates Than Justin Morneau, Scout Says
The Pittsburgh Pirates, reinforcing the notion that they’re “all in” for this season’s stretch drive, capped an active week Saturday by acquiring longtime Minnesota slugger Justin Morneau, the 2006 American League most valuable player. A few days before that, they had picked up outfielder Marlon Byrd and catcher John Buck from the New York Mets.
