In March 2012, a few months before the Cardinals selected him 19th overall in that summer’s draft, Texas A&M’s Michael Wacha took a perfect game into the eighth inning against Pepperdine, and it was with a reluctant grin Wednesday that he admitted how he lost that no-hit bid.
