The Cardinals, 4-8 against the Pirates this season, need a win today in order to take the series and avoid falling four games back in the division. They get a boost with the return of Yadier Molina, who comes off the disabled list today. Shane Robinson does as well, which gives the Cardinals another right-handed bat off the bench.
Yadier Molina is back in the starting lineup for the Cardinals today and batting fifth in their 12:45 p.m. game with Pirates. To make room for him on the roster, the Cardinals put Tony Cruz, who had been catching in Molina's absence, on the DL.
