The first wave of voting totals for the National League All-Star balloting was released by Major League Baseball this afternoon and besides showing how good San Francisco is at logging-in and clicking-out, it also hints at the name recognition the Cardinals middle infield has developed since last October.

Yadier Molina currently leads the major leagues with a .350 batting average. He’s also the best defensive catcher in the game, and plays for the team with the best record in baseball. Fans who voted early for the National League All Star team prefer Buster Poser of the Giants as their starting catcher. Posey has more than 1.2 million votes while Molina is almost 400,000 votes behind.
