Mike Matheny Not Ready To Move Matt Holliday In Lineup

Late in spring training, Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said he did not want to become so fixated on the same hitters in the same spots of the lineup that he missed a chance to aid a struggling player with a change in the order. He’s moved Jon Jay out of leadoff and Matt Carpenter into it to the benefit of both, and David Freese has shifted around until finding his swing.
