D'Angelo Jimenez Drives In Five Runs, Including Grand Slam; To Help Newark Beat Trois-Rivieres 16-4
The Newark Bears fired on all cylinders offensively Tuesday night, beating the Trois-Rivieres Aigles 16-4. 3B D’Angelo Jimenez (pictured) led the Bears with five RBI, including a fifth inning grand slam. Jimenez went 3-for-5 on the day, finishing a triple shy of the cycle. Newark LF Jamar Walton added four RBI, batting 2-for-4 with a double and an eighth-inning home run. Eight of Newark’s nine batters recorded a run in the game. Bears’ starter Leondy Perez pitched seven innings, striking out eight to earn the win. The Aigles only runs came across in the fifth on LF Jon Smith’s grand slam.
