Incoming recruit Blake Higgins from Jackson Community College was selected in the 17th round by the St. Louis Cardinals, the 485th player drafted. MSU coach Jake Boss said the 6-5, 220-pound right-handed pitcher from Mount Pleasant had elbow surgery two weeks ago and is expected to miss next season.
