Cardinals' Bench Players Get Chance To Scrape Off Rust

When a team opens 23-13 as the Cardinals have and has a 2.25 earned run average from its rotation, it often means that some of its bullpen members aren’t getting much work. And when said team, usually ahead in the late innings, has the likes of Yadier Molina, Carlos Beltran, Matt Holliday, Allen Craig and an improving Matt Carpenter in its lineup, some of the bench players end up sitting on it rather than getting swings.
