The Cardinals may miss Jon Jay's glove in center field (see: sliding catch to end the seventh inning Monday night), but they finally were forced to do something about his spot in the batting order.
Matt Adams (right oblique tightness) remains out of the Cardinals’ lineup, though he did say on Tuesday afternoon that he is improving. So much so, in fact, that Adams was cleared to take groundballs and throw during pregame batting practice. He has still not started to swing again. The Cardinals are optimistic that the oblique issue will not send Adams to the DL. That said, I wouldn’t expect him to play any earlier than Friday.
