Clayton Mortensen, RHP, Red Sox — He is being eyed by several teams who know that he’s out of options, but he doesn’t appear to be a pitcher the Sox would deal, unless they were overwhelmed, according to a GM who has poked around about him. The Red Sox love his versatility and the fact that he can pitch multiple innings; he could be a more stable version of Alfredo Aceves. While scouts like Aceves’s ability, his makeup scares a few teams.
