Jon Jay Was One Generation Removed From Qualifying For Spanish Team
They found out Seattle Mariners slugger Raul Ibanez had Spanish grandparents, but Ibanez turned down an offer to play. They discovered that St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Jon Jay was of Spanish descent, but Mazzotti said he was one generation too far removed to qualify.
