Yadier Molina gets his first start of the spring at first base, a position that the Cardinals wanted to get him some work at since there’s a chance he’ll be playing there in the World Baseball Classic. Also, Allen Craig returns to the lineup… but still not to the field. He’ll serve as the team’s designated hitter.
Manager Mike Matheny hinted earlier this week that we might see All-Star catcher Yadier Molina get some innings at first base before leaving to join team Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic. That time arrives Thursday.
