Cardinals right fielder Carlos Beltran was voted to the All-Star team last year on the basis of a first half in which he batted .296 with 20 homers and 65 runs batted in. But, bothered by forearm and knee injuries in the second half of the season, he dipped to .236 with 12 homers and 32 RBIs in his final 69 games.
