Betting On Colby Rasmus
In Baseball America’s 2009 Top 100 Prospects the St Louis Cardinal’s Colby Rasmus was listed as the number 3 prospect in all of baseball. Colby made the team out of spring training in 2009 and ended up having a 2.8 WAR that season according to fangraphs (basically what Brett Lawrie did for the Jays in 2012). He followed that up with a 4.3 WAR season in 2010. Baseball America looked like they were right to have him ranked so high as a prospect.
