In contrast, the St. Louis Cardinals drafted Jordan Swagerty in 2010 with the idea that he could be in the majors very quickly. A 2nd round pick out of Arizona State, he has been brilliant in A-ball this year, posting a 1.50 ERA with a 30/2 K/BB in 30 innings for Low-A Quad Cities, then a 1.91 ERA with a 36/13 K/BB in 42 innings for High-A Palm Beach. Overall he has a 1.74 ERA, 65/15 K/BB in 72 innings, 53 hits allowed, and a 1.65 GO/AO.
