Jose Almarante, a 22-year-old Haitian, hasn't wasted any time in making a good impression in pro ball. In his fourth game -- third start, he was about as hard to beat as imaginable. The St. Louis prospect frustrated the Jammers at Jamestown over six innings Thursday. Almarante gave up a single to the second batter he faced but was otherwise perfect, striking out three and retiring the final 17 batters who stepped in against him.
