Both the Cardinals and Jaime Garcia are refusing to confirm or deny reports that club and player are on the verge of agreeing to a four-year contract extension through 2015.
Cardinals lefty Jaime Garcia said that he would be open to a multi-year extension with the club, and while not confirming a report that he is nearing a deal with the club he said such negotiations would be better if they were done "quicker."
Both Cardinals pitcher Jaime Garcia and general manager John Mozeliak responded Thursday to a report that the left-hander had agreed to a new contract extension with the club. And while neither side was willing to confirm it, they didn't deny it either.
