Fearful of being short on fresh arms in the bullpen tonight, the Cardinals optioned rookie righthander Brandon Dickson to Memphis and called up righthander P.J. Walters from the Triple-A club, GM John Mozeliak said on WXOS (101.1 FM) this afternoon.
With most of their bullpen unavailable Thursday following a taxing 13-inning loss Wednesday night, the Cardinals purchased the contract of right-hander P.J. Walters from Memphis and added him to the big league roster.
P.J. Walters: Fast Rebound
Mark Hamilton: Third Time Down
Gerald Laird: Activated
Bryan Augenstein: DFA'd
Brandon Dickson: What Have You Done Lately?
