Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak says that no decision about manager Tony La Russa's return to the dugout for the upcoming home stand will be made until he meets with La Russa on Sunday night or Monday morning. Mozeliak emphasized that any decision will be predicated on how much progress La Russa has shown in his recovery from shingles and its painful side effects.
The Cardinals today face Reds starting pitcher Johnny Cueto for the first time since he landed a series of kicks to catcher Jason LaRue's head and pitcher Chris Carpenter's back during an on-field scrum last Aug. 10.
