Javier Vazquez Eyes Faster Start For Fish In St. Louis

The Marlins have a puzzling situation on their hands when it comes to veteran pitcher Javier Vazquez.

The 35-year-old starter, who will take the mound for the Fish on Wednesday, has given up at least one run in the first inning of all five of his starts, notching a bloated 12.60 ERA in the opening inning this season. But past the first frame, Vazquez's ERA plummets to 5.00 as the right-hander settles in.
