Bernie Bytes 5-2-11: Ryan Theriot Turns Shortstop Into Trouble Spot

When the Cardinals traded for Ryan Theriot, my first thought (and I wrote it at the time) was this: this is a good guy to have as your super utility man. Play him at 2B, play him at SS, give him a few shifts at 3B, and even park him in the outfield on occasion. In that role, I thought Theriot was a really good fit. The Cardinals would put Theriot to good use by moving him all around.
