After rarely employing the move following the acquisition of left fielder Matt Holliday in midsummer 2009, Cardinals manager Tony La Russa returned to one of his favorite lineup panaceas Sunday when he hit third baseman Daniel Descalso ninth and pitcher Jaime Garcia eighth.
