Springfield Loses 5-2, Splits With NW Arkansas

On a beautiful Thursday evening at Hammons Field, Cardinal fans filled the seats with $1 brats in hand. Deryk Hooker, a righty, took to the mound for the Birds and leftie, Will Smith hit the rubber for the Naturals, in the final game of the four-game series.
Mario Lisson and Jamie Romak each belted two-run home runs, and Will Smith took a four-hit shutout into the seventh as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals denied the Springfield Cardinals of winning the rivals’ first series of the year Thursday night.
