Matt Holliday Plans To Start Sunday's Game; Stan Musial Said To Have Alzheimer's Disease; Daniel Descalso Gets Start In Hometown; Ect...

It appears that the Cardinals' gamble with Matt Holliday is going to pay off.

When Holliday underwent an emergency appendectomy on April 1, the club elected not to place him on the disabled list, hoping that he would be able to play quite a bit sooner than 15 days. That is evidently going to be the case. Holliday said Saturday that he is available to pinch-hit for the Cardinals' Saturday night game against the Giants and that he expects to start Sunday at AT&T Park.
