Sizing Up Skip Schumaker For Late In The Order
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman and incumbent leadoff hitter Skip Schumaker took a .389 spring average into Monday's game against Washington. He outfitted that average with a .528 slugging percentage, a .robust .476 on-base percentage and twice as many walks (six) as strikeouts (3).
