Gerald Laird Leaves Game With Tight Hamstring

Cardinals backup catcher Gerald Laird left Thursday's game after three innings because of tightness in his left hamstring. The veteran catcher felt a bite in his leg when running out a groundball in the second inning of the 5-2 loss. Laird reached base on an error, and the Cardinals first run scored on the play.
