This morning the Cardinals trimmed outfielder Antonio DeJesus, who topped out at Double-A Springfield last season; shortstop Jose Martinez, who also reached Springfield in his career; outfielder CJ Beatty, known around here as The Twitter Hitter; and RHP Nick McCully, INF Devin Goodwin and RHP Charllan Jimenez.
Former number eight prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals system, 2B Jose Martinez, is among six minor leaguers released on Thursday.
The Springfield Cardinals’ YouTube sensation of a year ago will have to take his traveling act elsewhere, as the St. Louis farm system’s minor league staff decided to release outfielder Antone DeJesus.
Fittingly, 2010 Quad-Cities outfielder C.J. Beatty told the world that he was released by the Cardinals organization on Twitter.
