John Mozeliak Targets David Freese For Opening Day
Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak, assessing the third-base situation at the Cardinals' Winter Warm-Up today, listed rookie Daniel Descalso, rookie Allen Craig and Tyler Greene as the potential backups for David Freese. But Mozeliak expressed confidence that Freese, who had two ankle surgeries last year, would be ready for Opening Day. That's the March 31 Opening Day in St. Louis and not the first day of spring training in February.
