The Cardinals announced on Friday that right-handed pitcher Tyrell Jenkins, their third selection in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, has agreed to a contract and will report to rookie-level Johnson City.
The St. Louis Cardinals are close to completing a deal with supplemental pick Tyrell Jenkins, a prep pitcher from Texas. The deal could be announced as early as today. The Post-Dispatch reported during the previous home stand that a deal with Jenkins was close (and then in more detail here), and Baseball America reports this afternoon that a deal worth $1.3 million is in place.
The Cardinals have signed supplemental first round pick Tyrell Jenkins, the 50th overall selection in the recent June MLB Draft.
