The reminder was delivered Thursday when the Cardinals managed one hit (and no runs) in 11 innings vs. Philadelphia. The Cardinals have scored 3 or fewer runs in 37 games this season. And 2 or fewer runs in 31 games. They've been shut out eight times. They've been held to one run 12 times. You can certainly make a case that the biggest need is a middle-infield bat.
