There is no timetable yet for either outfielder Rick Ankiel or reliever John Parrish to depart on a minor-league rehab assignment.
Both players accompanied the club on the road trip, which typically suggests the recovery is advanced.
Ankiel hasn’t played in the field since straining a right quadriceps muscle April 24 against Minnesota. He did make two pinch-hitting appearances before the injury forced him to the disabled list.
Parrish was diagnosed with inflammation in his left rotator cuff after an April 24 outing.
Yost said Ankiel jogged four times around Fenway Park in pregame workouts but must progress to a sprint regimen before starting a rehab assignment. Parrish is throwing bullpen workouts from a mound but will throw live batting practice before departing.
