Jeremy Affeldt (hamstring) threw a bullpen and should be close to ready. But Edgar Renteria (hamstring) probably won’t be activated when he’s eligible to return Thursday at Cincy, Bruce Bochy said. There’s a good chance Renteria will go on a rehab assignment.
