On Saturday after his team had been mystified by Chicago Cubs starter Carlos Silva, St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa fumed, saying he was done talking about his team’s offense, done trying to explain its lack of production, done answering the same questions because, as he said, his answers clearly weren’t good enough to make the whole darn topic go away.
