An essential part of the Cincinnati Reds’ surge to the top of the NL Central this past month and their claim to the contender title is third baseman Scott Rolen. Manager Tony La Russa’s sarcasm about a manager getting more out of the Gold Glover than he could, Rolen is leading the Reds with a swing that seems downright retro around these parts. That could mean only one thing: health.
