Cardinals lose 3 of 4 to one of the top two teams in the National League. When you are the other top team in the league, this is not how you had hoped it would go, but I do see a silver lining. They lost these games not because they didn’t have chances, but because they failed almost everytime they came up with a chance to make something happen. That of course needs to be fixed, but I have to think it’s better to go 4 for 35 with runners in scoring position than go 0 for 4 over a four game series. Now, if this doesn’t start to turnaround soon, then we have an entirely different issue, one which the hitting coach will have to figure out.
