Angels outfielder Terry Evans learned after Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Yankees that he was heading back to Triple-A Salt Lake, having been designated for assignment to make room on the 25-man roster for the return of Scott Kazmir to the starting rotation on Thursday night in the Bronx.
