Mike Matheny On The Fast Lane 4-9-10

Former Cardinal and Brewer Mike Matheny joins the show to preview this evening's series opener at Miller Park. He professes that no one does it quite like St. Louis in terms of Opening Day festivities. Matheny's exact role with the organization has yet to be determined, but he does a lot with the youngsters in need of guidance right now. In relation to current catching prospects, the erstwhile backstopper really likes Steven Hill and Robert Stock, in addition to the better known Pagnozzi and Anderson. Stock reminds Matheny of a more raw version of Minnesota's Joe Mauer. Matheny maintains that, for the moment, Motte simply needs to absorb his lumps and grow into his (relatively new) position.
