Mark DeRosa is expected to test his surgically repaired left wrist by swinging for the first time against a "real" pitcher Sunday. DeRosa, who has taken plenty of batting practice with coaches doing the pitching, would have tried this exercise Saturday, but the shortage of available pitchers due to the split-squad games forced the delay.
