Last year, young outfielders Brad Nelson and Chris Duffy played their way onto the Brewers' bench with big spring trainings, then fell flat on their faces after the bell rang and were soon gone.
You have to believe it'll be better with Jody Gerut and Jim Edmonds, who barring injury should win the two reserve outfield spots. Gerut was bad off the bench last year, then started to hit better with more playing time, so he'll have to figure out how to handle that role this time around.
