A dozen or so baseball people — baseball writers, club officials, Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson among them — were sitting around a long table at Frasher's Steakhouse on a recent night discussing the spring training boom in Arizona when a longtime Oakland Athletics employee became a bit whimsical.
