When Shelby Miller spoke with reporters on the day he was drafted last June, the hard-throwing Texan came across as refreshingly confident at least, if not all the way to brash. On his first day in Major League camp, Miller's confidence remained intact -- but the experience of being in a room full of big leaguers showed the humble side of the 19-year-old right-hander as well.
