Tony LaRussa Runner-Up In NL Manager Of The Year Voting

Tony La Russa was in the running for a record fifth Manager of the Year Award from the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Instead he settled for a slightly less glamorous record.

Jim Tracy, a Colorado Rockies coach who took over the team’s manager’s job in late May when Clint Hurdle was fired, today was named National League Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, with the Cardinals’ Tony La Russa a second-place finisher for a record sixth time.
