1936 came and the Redbirds were again one of the powerhouses of the NL. With tons of hitting and aggressive base running they ruled the NL for 85 days before succumbing to the lack of pitching in the end. The Cardinals finished the season in 2nd place 87-67 .565 -5. The team led the NL in Slg. Pct. with a .410 and in Stolen Bases with 69.
