So, among the free agent starters, our guess is Randy Wolf would be the Diamondbacks’ top target, but it also seems likely that he is priced out of their comfort zone. Who knows, though. Byrnes said this week the club would do a multiyear deal. Maybe they’d be willing to get aggressive to sign him. If not, Jason Marquis and Brad Penny seem like the most likely alternatives. Remember, the Diamondbacks tried to sign both Wolf and Penny last off-season.
