Cardinals righthander Adam Wainwright’s remarkable streak of games in which he had pitched at least six innings came to a crashing halt tonight when, leading 5-0 in the bottom of the fifth at PNC Park, he was torched by six runs by the previously reeling Pittsburgh Pirates. Wainwright, who had lasted at least six innings in his previous 26 starts, was pinch hit for in the top of the sixth by Joe Thurston.
